Physical Therapy Assistant

I was born and raised in McAllen, Texas, and graduated from South Texas High School for Health Professions. From a young age, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field. After high school, I attended the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in General Rehabilitation in 2015.

While completing my undergraduate studies, I worked as a physical therapy technician, balancing my time between school and hands-on experience. Mornings and weekends were spent working in a hospital setting, while afternoons were dedicated to outpatient clinics, allowing me to gain valuable insight into different aspects of patient care.

Following my graduation, I continued my education at Concorde Career College, where I earned an Associate in Applied Science and became a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in 2018.

Since graduating, I have gained extensive experience working in outpatient clinics specializing in orthopedics, geriatric care, pelvic health, sports medicine, and Pilates. Additionally, my work in home health has allowed me to provide care in various settings, including residential homes, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and group homes. I have also led group exercise classes for seniors at assisted living facilities, helping to promote mobility and overall well-being.

During my time at Pyramid, I have expanded my expertise by completing several courses through Balanced Body under the instruction of Master Instructor Chris Rhoades. This advanced training has enabled me to work with both one-on-one clients and lead group Reformer classes. In addition, I have pursued various continuing education courses to enhance my skills in the field of physical therapy, including kinesiology taping techniques and other specialized modalities.

Many patients, especially in the geriatric population, struggle with maintaining their strength, mobility, and independence as they recover from injuries or surgeries. I am passionate about addressing this challenge by creating individualized treatment plans that not only focus on rehabilitation but also incorporate activities they enjoy. By integrating functional movement, Pilates-based exercises, and hands-on therapy, I aim to help patients regain confidence in their abilities and improve their overall quality of life. My goal is to make therapy engaging, effective, and empowering so that every patient feels supported on their journey to better health.
